Idlewild Margaret River Range

The Idlewild range is sourced primarily from the Margaret River wine region 3.5 hours south of Perth. The fruit is obtained on a yearly basis from a number of trusted growers, and is made in a soft, easy drinking style.

In the past we have experimented with including a sparkling wine in the range, and sourcing fruit internationally (NZ sauvignon blanc for example), however we now feel that Margaret River, and the Great Southern are the appropriate regions for the Idlewild wine portfolio.

These are intended to be a great value for money wine, over-delivering in quality for the price and are exclusively available to Liquor Barons stores.

Sauvignon Blanc, Margaret River

“Crisp and grassy, great line and length – plenty of spice and tropical fruit. Purity, natural acidity and lean fruit are hallmarks of this wine.”

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Margaret River

Rose, Great Southern

“Bright, red raspberries, strawberries – a hint of sweetness on the palate, ending in a dry finish.  Pomegranate, red apple and bright acidity.”

Cabernet Merlot, Margaret River

“Soft and juicy black berries, cassis and hints of eucalyptus.  Margaret River is the go-to region in Australia for this blend, and we do it well.  A ‘drink now’ wine, intentionally approachable with silky tannins and a smooth finish.
