Espolòn Tequila Subheading
Espolòn Tequila Blanco – For everyone.
The name Espolòn came from founder, Cirilo Oropeza. Espolòn is Spanish for “spur,” and was used to honour his commitment to Tequila and the Mexican craft – to spur on, always moving forward, but never forgetting to be inspired by the spirits of the past.
As Cirilo explored how to bring the Tequila he envisioned to life, he was driven by two Mexican icons: the rooster, a symbol of national pride, and the revolutionary artist Jose Guadalupe Posada. Cirilo was so inspired that soon, a rooster lovingly named Ramon, alongside art inspired by Posada, came together to define Espolòn’s core meaning. He was soon producing a Tequila that embodied the spirit of Mexico – a rebel soul full of music, colour, pride and friendship.
Espolòn is designed to be an exceptional Tequila that everyone can enjoy.

Quick Facts
- Espolòn set up a “Ghost Line” for their 2019 Valentine’s Day marketing campaign. This was a hotline that could be reached by dialing “1-800-Espolòn,” and provided a space for broken hearted souls who needed to share their ghosting stories (perhaps after consuming a glass of tequila, or two).
- The Blue Weber plants that Espolòn use for their Tequila are grown at altitudes up to 2,000 meters above sea level in Jalisco’s Los Altos highlands. These high altitudes make for difficult growing conditions, but this stress produces agave with higher sugar content and more intense flavours than plants grown in other regions.
- To “inspire” the agave to make great tequila, Espolón distillers play rock music during the fermentation process.
