• Back in the 1800s, the original recipe for Pink Gin was invented by the British Royal Navy, where is began as a Gin cocktail. It’s believed that this invention was a way to convince sailors to drink Angostura Bitters, which at the time was used as remedy for digestive problems and a cure for sea sickness.
• Regular Gin is distilled and flavoured predominantly with juniper berries, while Pink Gin is typically Dry Gin flavoured or infused with red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries or rhubarb.
• Gordon’s Pink Gin is distilled with juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice, orris root, orange and lemon peel, but the full recipe remains top secret and is rumoured to only be known by 12 people in the entire world.
